Shuffle-It Sunday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It felt so nice to have time for family, and although I probably shouldn’t have done so, it actually felt nice to not have to think about school… until now.

I realize I have let us fall behind schedule again, but as the semester comes to an end, I find myself swamped with papers and projects. I’ll try my best to catch up this week, as we are up to Throwback Thursday, but have yet to do a Transformation Tuesday and Watch-It Wednesday. Please be on the lookout for those, as well as any reviews we might have time for. Anyway, on to this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! Enjoy the list, and I hope you find something new to listen to! I have added quite a bit of songs to my iTunes since last week.

1. CL & Minzy – Please Don’t Go

I love this song! Oh my gosh! It’s been so long since I last listened to it! Why does YG give us so many sub-units, but never give them a comeback?! Darice and I are especially missing Minzy right now. She’s improved so much since her debut, and never ceases to amaze us. She can rap, sing, and dance! Give her a solo right now, YG!

2. T-Ara – Day by Day

This song will always get to me, no matter what. T-Ara has always given some of the most catchy songs, and even some I listen to still even now. This song had me hooked the moment I first heard it, and it still hits me right in my emotions.

3. Linkin Park – Iridescent

I love the Transformers series, although I was hoping former Super Junior member, Hangeng, got a more significant role in the movie, or at least even had a significant role. I couldn’t help but find the character he played ridiculous, not to say I didn’t enjoy seeing him. I also absolutely love Linkin Park, and I wish they would have been able to continue being the group to sing the songs for the Transformers series. I loved all three songs they had for the first three parts. I’m not doubting Imagine Dragons, as I love their song Demons, but I wasn’t as impressed with the song they had for the fourth part of the series. Until the next installation comes out, I guess.

4. EXO-K – 월광 (Moonlight)

This is such a beautiful song, and may actually be my favorite off the album! EXO definitely has some of the most powerful vocals in KPOP. With there being more emotional songs on this album than I remembered on any of EXO’s other albums, this album kind of felt like the good-bye it ended up being for Kris and Luhan. I absolutely enjoyed this album though, and particularly this song.

5. U-KISS – Forbidden Love

6. T-Ara – Sugar Free (Big Room Ver.)

Don’t forget to catch Bangtan Boys’ parody of this song!

7. MBLAQ – Oh Yeah!

I nearly cried when this song played, as MBLAQ talks about “the curtain closing” being an opportunity for them to grow and return to A+ as even better men. I have been hooked on MBLAQ ever since their debut, and they have truly worked hard to get to where they are now. I hope them all the best for their future, and we will always be supporting them, each member, regardless of if they return as five or not. Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah~ yeah~ yeah~!

8. Leona Lewis – My Hands

I absolutely love this song! I love Leona Lewis’ voice here. I haven’t really been into her new stuff though. But this! It’s a piece of artwork! I really like this song, and I could go on listening to it for a long, long time.

9. Outsider ft MC Sniper – Face Off

10. MBLAQ – Hello My Ex

A beautiful song to end our list this week! It’s a wonderful tune, and I love it. As I’ve always said, MBLAQ will always have a special place in my heart. They are, again, the only group who’ s album I physically own.

And we have reached the end of this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! I hope you enjoyed the list and found a new song to listen to!

Shuffle-It Sunday

Although I’m not missing Shuffle-It Sunday this week, due to a busy schedule, I had to miss Spontaneous Saturday yesterday, and there was so much to talk about too! You will definitely hear from us about Spontaneous Saturday this week though, along with a Transformation Tuesday.

Enjoy the list and I hope you all find something new to listen to!

1. Wang Lee Hom – Can You Feel My World

2. TTS – Baby Steps

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Funny thing is that it introduced me to the original English version. I can’t help but feel sad though. Every time I hear an SNSD song now, I can’t help but feel different, knowing that there’s only 8 members now. It’s a feeling that pulls at my KPOP heart.

3. Lim Jeong Hee ft Jo Kwon – 헤어지러 가는 길 (On the way to Break Up)

It’s been some emotionally-themed songs so far for Shuffle-It Sunday this week, and with all the bad news that fans can’t help but recently be reminded of for 2014 KPOP, I guess the tunes fit well. Here’s to a better outro for the year, and if not, then may 2015 bring KPOP fans more happiness.

4. Outsider – 외톨이 (Loner)

And the mood continues…

5. Bangtan Boys – Danger

And my iTunes’ mood has changed! I don’t want to be a 누나 팬 (noona fan) but BTS is slowly trying to break that part of me. If you remember me mentioning last time, I’m huge on hip-hop and R&B music in KPOP thanks to 1TYM and Big Bang and BTS reminds me so much of them. But most of all, I like all of the members’ personalities. They’re such dorks, it’s adorable.

왜 나를 시험해… 다들 상남자 이다! 정말 멋있어요!

6. Jay Chou – 飘移 (Drift)

One of my all-time favorite Asian pop artists!

7. Yoseob & Drama – 첫 눈 그리고 첫 키스 (First Snow, First Kiss)

The way the weather is now, here in Minnesota, I won’t be surprised if we get a white Halloween this year. I don’t think winter here will live up to how romantic this song is though. And once again, DTMN where are you?! Yoseob, you’re voice is always beautiful.

8. JJ Lin – 期待你的爱 (Waiting for Your Love)

Where is this guy too?! JJ’s voice is so beautiful!

9. After School – Someone is You

I like After School’s system and their concept of “graduation” but I can’t help think about old members and miss them as a part of the group, especially Kahi. She was my favorite member.

10. Fahrenheit – 傻傻的勇氣 (Foolish Courage)

If anything, the instruments incorporated into this song is what won me over. This group will forever be at the top of my list for mandopop boy bands. I don’t even know any of the recent ones, excluding the ones thrown into the industry by KPOP companies. And the drama that turned me into a Fahrenheit fangirl, the Taiwanese adaptation of Hana Kimi, will always hold a special place in my heart, although I will never ever watch it ever again.

And that brings us to a close! So many good songs came out from the shuffle this week! I hope you all found something new to listen to!

Shuffle-It Sunday

No papers to worry about for the moment, so I have plenty of time to do a Shuffle-It Sunday this week! Here’s to hoping that I can pick up on reviews too, as we have begun to fall behind again. Enjoy the list!

1. VIXX – 기적 (Eternity)

This is the song that got me hooked on VIXX! If you haven’t already, check out our fancam of them performing at KCON 2014! The videos are shared on our blog, and you can also find them on YouTube!

2. Big Bang – Emotion

3. Wheesung – Night and Day

I cannot stress how beautiful this song is! My one year old niece loves it, and there’s not even anything flashy to catch her eye! Her older brother, my 4 year old nephew, loves it too! This is how I know it’s a good song. Even children can fall in love with Wheesung’s voice. If you’re only listening to it now, you’ve been missing out.

4. Super Junior – Monster

5. Jo Sung Mo – 웃을께 (I Will Smile)

I did not watch Coffee House, but I happened to come across this song while browsing through YouTube, as is always the case with me when I get bored. I can’t say it’s enough for me to want to watch the drama, but I like it.

6. Ze:A – Heart for 2

We are aware of what happened with Ze:A and their company. We’re just glad things came to an agreeable close with them and that they are able to continue their dream as a group. 제국의 아이들 화이팅!!!!!!!!!

7. Skull ft Park Hyo Shin – 나 이러고 살아 (I Live Like This)

I haven’t listened to this song for awhile, so after seeing Skull on Running Man and then hearing this song again, I couldn’t help but become shocked. His regular speaking voice wouldn’t indicate such unique vocals!

8. TaeTiSeo – Library

9. i13 – One More Time

I don’t know what happened to this group. I do know that they broke up, and a group called JQT came out of it. I don’t know what happened to that group either. But I did follow them after belatedly discovering i13… until they kind of just disappeared. If anyone has any news, please do feel free to let us know.

10. One Republic – Secrets

Yes, I’m a solid KPOP fan, but One Republic was actually the first concert I attended, and for that, they will always have a special place in my heart. It was cheaper and followed the true “First Come, First Serve” concept too. Of course the prices are much higher, now that they know they got some hardcore MN fans, but I was happy to have gotten to see them live at least once. Maybe if money allows, I can take another chance to see them live again. They have the most beautiful vocals.

11. 2PM – Hot

Even though most of these KPOP groups had comebacks, iTunes is still throwing their old songs at me. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course.

12. Kim Soo Hyun – Dreaming

Although this might not do justice to the song, it was a really well-done scene from the drama. Kim Soo Hyun’s voice…

13. Outsider ft MC Sniper – Face Off

I’m sure you can all guess how I discovered Outsider… YouTube browsing. I can’t believe I would have missed this talented artist otherwise! Just goes to show, everyone, if you have time and can’t think of anything to do, browse YouTube for some music! The things you find are amazing!

14. Edward Chun – Give Your Love

15. DMTN – Still By Ur Side

Did I miss their comeback? Please tell me this group has not disbanded! It would be such a waste!

Hope you all enjoyed the list and found something new to listen to! Every time I do Shuffle-It Sunday I am always surprised at the songs I find. I’m not that far from 1,000 songs, so I might have to consider increasing the number of songs for Shuffle-It Sunday.

Shuffle-It Sunday

Again, KCON unexpectedly took up more of our time than we planned for, so we missed another week of Shuffle-It Sunday. So, this week, we’re giving you 20 songs. Enjoy and hope you find something new to listen to!

1. 2NE1 – Don’t Stop the Music

2. 5Dolls – 입술자국 (Lip Stains)

I hadn’t heard much about 5Dolls or Co-Ed before when they first debuted, but I randomly clicked on this video one day, and I was hooked on this song, and the other MV part for this too.

3. Kang Mi Yeon ft. Eric – Paparazzi

Oh, gosh, I miss the old KPOP groups. I especially loved Baby V.O.X, which also consisted of Yoon Eun Hye, who is now a very well known actress.

4. Outsider ft MC Sniper – Face Off

I don’t know if this is the official music video or not, but still, this video is captivating and I kind of want to watch the movie now.

5. G-Dragon – Crayon

Oh, the KCON 2014 memories! G-Dragon’s performance was definitely the best from that weekend for me. My camera ended up dying before his performance, but it was a plus because I was able to actually focus on the concert, and enjoy it. I sung along and got hyped up for the first time ever at a KPOP concert.

6. Far East Movement ft Ryan Tedder – Rocketeer

7. 2NE1 – 착한 여자 (Good to You)

8. Epik High – Fan

This is the song that introduced me to Epik High and I have loved their songs ever since. I can’t say that I followed them faithfully though because I didn’t know about all the things they were going through until Tablo was all of a sudden under YG, and so I went in search of what happened to them. It’s good to see them still active and I hope they continue because they are like 1TYM to me.

9. 2NE1 – Let’s Go Party

iTunes must be missing 2NE1. Haven’t even gotten to the cut off for a usual Shuffle-It Sunday, and I’ve gotten three 2NE1 songs already.

10. Su Yi Cheng – 保護色 (Protective Color)

It’s a good thing I came up with Shuffle-It Sunday. I can go back and listen to all my old songs via this way. When this song came on, I completely forgot how in love I was with it. The vocals are so good! I didn’t watch the drama K.O. One, but I know it was pretty big back in the days, featuring members from the hottest boy band at the time in Taiwan, Fahrenheit.

11. PSY – Gangnam Style

12. Evan Yoo – 남자도 어쩔 수 없다 (Men Can’t Help it Either)

This song is soooooooooo good! I love Evan’s voice. By the way, does anyone know where and what he’s doing now? And is that a younger Min Hyo Rin in the video?

13. J.ae – Kiss Me

J.ae is also a singer from back in the days that my entire family also knows about because they used to be as KPOP crazy as I am now. Her voice is so beautiful. Jeez, iTunes. What’s with all the reminiscing? I found this song browsing through fan made videos of dramas.

14. F.Cuz – Jiggy

Where is this group?! I came across them browsing for new songs and I went on an F.Cuz spree! But I don’t know what they’re up to nowadays. This song is really catchy and addicting by the way.

15. CN Blue – Y, Why

Yong Hwa has a different rapping style in this one, if that’s him rapping. But I love the opening guitar. It was beautiful. This entire song is beautiful.

16. Super Junior – Super Man

17. Mystic White – 인어공주 (Mermaid Princess)

18. N.O.M – 누난예뻐 (Pretty Noona)

19. Hyorin – 널 사랑하겠어 (I Choose to Love You)

I think Jay Park did a cover of this song for Immortal Song too. He needs to release an official cover of it because I really liked his version too.

20. SG Wannabe – 내사람 (Partners for Life)

I was so obsessed with this song. The vocals are just so… there’s no word for their vocals. It’s a wonderful song, and I still love it to this day, although the adlibbing at the end is a bit…

And that is the end of this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday. With 20 songs, there was bound to be a song you haven’t heard before! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this list and look forward to next week’s!

Shuffle It Sunday

Here’s this week’s Shuffle It Sunday! Enjoy the songs, and I hope you all find something new to listen to!

1. GDRAGON ft Kim Yuna – Missing You

2. EXO-K – Peter Pan

This song hit home with the me the moment I first heard it. It has a sweet tune and it just makes me want to smile. I’ve done a small cover of it, but that’s for my own personal use. When Darice and I can afford one, we have plans of starting a YouTube channel for covers. That’s still a far ways off, but for anyone looking to sing to a song, this is the one. You can practice your rapping too. It’s a simple song, nothing too high, nothing too low.

3. 2NE1 – Try to Follow Me

4. Demi Lovato – Give Your Heart a Break

5. Edward Chun – Give My Love

This song! I’ve never actually watched the drama, and I don’t think I could because it’s too depressing, but I’ve heard nothing but wonderful reviews for this drama. My older brother also watched it all the way through, and that man DOESN’T watch Korean dramas. And this OST is to die for! It’s so beautiful! I may not have watched the drama, but I can’t deny such a beautiful song.

6. EXO-K – 3.6.5

It’s another happy song from EXO-K! I still can’t believe I saw this song performed live at KCON 2013 by all 12 members. But my KCON memories aren’t as great as I feel like they should have been. So many disappointing things, but the concert made up for most of it.

7. Hyuna ft G.Na and Junhyung – A Bitter Day

I seriously wish Hyuna would just drop her sexy and cute image and sing songs like this. It highlights her skills so much more, and I can’t even imagine if she sung as a solo with this style. A raw, emotional image fits her so much more. But I may be the only person who thinks like this.

8. Super Junior – Monster

9. K.Will ft Outsider – Hypnotism

I can’t remember how I discovered Outsider, but he is a very talented rapper, and I love K.Will’s voice!

10. Teen Top – To You
