New Year’s Resolution & Shuffle-It Sunday

Hello and a happy new year to all!

I know that we have been very inactive, seeing as the last post came from when I was in South Korea over the summer in 2015. We’ve had a lot of personal and school related issues interrupt our lives and were unable to take care of our blog as we would have preferred. But, now that I’ve completed my undergraduate studies and Darice has opened up more time now, we’re hoping 2016 is a better year for ZodaReviews94. Our goal is to post at least once a week, which was the original purpose of having rotating topics. Nothing much is changing, except that we’re bringing back profiles of groups. We’re not sure how we’re going about this part of the blog yet though; we’ll probably end up just going with the flow.

Also, for pictures from my trip to South Korea last summer and from Big Bang’s MADE World Tour in Newark, NJ, please visit our Instagram!

And now, to start off 2016 and ZodaReviews94’s comeback with my all-time favorite topic for our blog, here is Shuffle-It Sunday for this week!

1. Heartbreak – N.Flying

2. Touch – Miss A

3. 愛情闖進門 (When Love Walked In) – BY2

4. Shard – Epik High

5. Crush on You – MyName

6. Lipstick – Jo Kwon

7. Hero – Monsta X

8. 남자라서  (As a Man) – Gummy

9. See You Again – Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth

10. Jiggy – F.Cuz

That ends our first Shuffle-It Sunday for 2016. And here’s a small gift to our readers for the new year! Please comment if you are the one to activate the code!

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us through the few years we’ve been active. Happy new year everyone, and I hope you all continue to support ZodaReviews94 this year and through many more years to come!

Shuffle-It Sunday

Well, it’s been a really long time since our last Shuffle-It Sunday, and I’m really glad to have found some time to do it this week, despite having a research report to write. This was always my favorite day of the week for our blog. No reviews though, just a list. Enjoy!

1. Kim Hyun Joong – Smile

2. Aaron Yan – 這不是我 (That’s Not Me)

3. Dalmatian – Lost in Love

4. C-Clown – 멀어질까봐 (Far Away… Young Love)

5. CN Blue – Cold Love

6. Jung Dong Ha – Mystery

7. Jun.K ft. J.Lim – Don’t Go

8. MyName – Baby, I’m Sorry

9. EXO – XOXO

10. TeenTop – 향수 뿌리지마 (Don’t Spray Perfume)

Shuffle-It Sunday

I am so sorry that I missed out on a Flashback Friday after having said I wouldn’t. The semester is coming to a close and I have just been swamped with projects and papers. This week should be a little more laid back come Friday, so I will try my absolute best not to miss Flashback Friday and our Spontaneous Saturday this week. Here is our Shuffle-It Sunday for this week! Enjoy the list and I hope you all find something new to listen to!

1. Dr. Dre ft Eminem and Skylar Grey – I Need a Doctor

I am an extremely big fan of Eminem! He is the one rapper that I continuously listen to outside of KPOP. This song hits all the emotions in me and I love it!

2. C-Clown – 나랑만나 (Let’s Love)

I am so glad that I found C-Clown. I would have regretted it so much if I continued on missing out on such a wonderful KPOP group. Waiting for their next comeback with the utmost anticipation!

3. SHINee – Note

I have mixed feelings about SHINee, and it really comes down to preference of music and style. But some of their songs I just absolutely love, and this is one of them.

4. 2PM – 니가 나를 떠나도 (Even if You Leave Me)

2PM has come so far. If I didn’t have plans for going to South Korea next summer, I would have absolutely said yes to going to their Chicago concert with Darice. Hoping she has a blast and shoves it in my face when she comes back.

5. 4Men – 내 여친 (My Girlfriend)

My preference in KPOP nowadays is strongly influenced by songs from the 2000’s, and 4Men’s song definitely has the tune. Remember, I’m not much into ballads, but this song just calls out to me.

6. U- KISS – 빙글빙글 (Round and Round)

I love U-Kiss’ older songs! Don’t get me wrong; I absolutely loved their latest release. That Bingeul Bingeul move though… And I couldn’t help but laugh the moment Kevin came out on screen. Good old memories, I tell you.

7. Nell – Run

This song was what got me into Nell, and I am so sorry to their fans that I am only finding them now. I also loved Jong Wan’s featuring in Epik High’s Shoebox album. His voice is so refreshing to hear.

8. Ji Sun – Rollercoaster Love

This song has such a happy tune to it! I loved Loveholic’s Sad Story, and as I went back to listen to that song, I happened upon Ji Sun’s solo album and I was lost in listening to it. I cannot tell you what YouTube browsing has done for me.

9. G-Dragon – 니가 뭔데 WHO YOU?

Oh, my KCON 2014 memories! The concert always makes up for how tiring the event is. G-Dragon never fails to deliver. I swear though, if YG has a concert here in the U.S. while I’m abroad in South Korea, I am going to have the biggest fit for the troll. Oh, the joys of being a YG stan.

10. MyName – 끌리잖아 Crush on You

Ending this week’s list with our Throwback Thursday group last week, MyName! Actually, I kind of stopped listening to them after their debut song (only because I got busy, I promise!), and then their latest release pulled me back. I went on a MyName spree and found so many good songs from them, and this is one of my favorite!

And that’s a wrap for this week! I hope you all found something new to listen to! Spread the KPOP love!

– Zoey

MyNAME – Message

We missed it last week, but here is our Throwback Thursday to MyNAME’s debut song, Message!

I’m not sure how Darice, who suggested this song, came across it, but I came across this song just doing my usual YouTube browsing. It sounds awkward at first, but like any other KPOP song, listen to it enough, and you are done for. I could not stop listening to it for the first few days after discovering it. MyNAME seriously needs more recognition.

Shuffle-It Sunday

Okay, I’ll be honest. I nearly completely forgot about Shuffle-It Sunday. But, I have a good enough reason… I hope. Hahahaha… ha… ha. Anyway, I ended up working this entire Labor Day weekend, so it ended up not feeling like a Sunday at all. My schedule has completely been thrown off ever since KCON, since I’ve been stuck in a constant cycle of work. As a broke college student with intentions to study abroad, and having to pay for nearly everything myself, I have to accept that this constant cycle of work will never end until I’m out of college. Thank goodness for music though. It makes life so much easier to get through. Well, let’s get this list started, shall we? Hope you all find a new song to listen to! Enjoy!

1. Eminem – Survival

My favorite American rapper singing a song for one of my all time favorite video games; Call of Duty. Enough said.

2. U-KISS – 숨도 못 쉬어 (Can’t Even Breathe)

This song actually comes from one of my favorite U-KISS albums. I’ll admit that I don’t know all the members though, maybe three? Despite that, they are still a group I always look for future activities from.

3. Kelly Clarkson – Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)

I see that iTunes is trying to cheer me up before school is in session. Well, it won’t work. But music will always make life a bit easier, and I always love listening to Kelly Clarkson’s voice.

4. D-Unit – Luv Me

Okay, I feel like I might have missed this group’s activities, but I seriously feel like I also haven’t heard anything about them recently. Where are they? I loved this song!

5. 4Minute –  거울아 거울아 (Mirror Mirror)

I do keep up with 4Minute’s new stuff, but honestly, for me, their recent stuff haven’t been anything to keep me listening to it. Mirror Mirror and Volume Up are the last two songs that I can remember liking from them. But I have faith that they will release another song that will completely draw me in. I’m sorry if I offend anyone, but this is my honest opinion; HyunA needs to stop rapping the way she is now. I loved her flow in Change.

6. MyName – Baby I’m Sorry

Have they released a new song yet? I feel like I’ve already asked that question multiple times right now. I seriously need to follow KPOP better. MyName, where are you?!

7. B.o.B ft Taylor Swift – Both of Us

I’m not too big on B.o.B’s parts, but I loved how T.Swift sung this song. It felt different.

8. Big Flo – Fly

If you haven’t yet done so, go listen to Big Flo’s debut album! Although I mostly liked Delilah and this song, the album may appeal to a lot of you, so don’t miss out on this rookie boy group! I’m definitely staying on the lookout for their future activities.

9. B.A.P – Warrior

Has it really been two years?! Wow… Well, this song is a classic B.A.P song, and if you’re only listening to this song now, you’ve been missing out. WARRIOR! It’s a very addicting song.

10. U-KISS – Standing Still

Whoa… Okay, so I love this song, but I never knew there was a music video for it! Oh, gosh, I’m such a horrible KPOP fan. Well, I’ve seen it now, if that makes up for anything. Go U-KISS!

And that’s the end of the list! Glad I managed to remember before I went to sleep. I would have missed so many good songs, and I loved the flash backs to baking cookies in our school bakery for high school and blasting U-KISS. I never got yelled at once for it either. The school be loving KPOP too, I see. Anyway, I hope you all found something new to listen to and look forward to next week’s list because I know I am.

Shuffle-It Sunday

Since we missed Shuffle-It Sunday last week, we will be posting 15 songs this week. Enjoy and hope you find something new to listen to on the list!

1. Big Bang – 붉은 노을 (Sunset Glow)

A classic! I know this song has been mentioned on our blog before, whether it be here or a Throwback Thursday. I’m not a fan of all of Big Bang’s songs, but they are still my all time favorite in the KPOP industry.

2. Kim Yeo Hee – 꽃잎 (Petal)

3. Ailee – I’ll Be O.K.

4. T-Ara – 떠나지마 (Don’t Leave me Alone)

5. Wang Lee Hom – Can You Feel My World

This song was the song that brought upon my discovery of Wang Lee Hom and, although I haven’t been faithfully following him, I do get updates now and then about his current activities. I’ll have to a Watch-It Wednesday on his movie, Love In Disguise, so that I can just talk about how good the album involved in that movie was. If he has something more recent out, please, someone let me know.

6. Super Junior – 너라고 (It’s You)

Oh, man… It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to this song, and it still gets me! It’s just such a beautiful song! I love the instrumental. And, of course, this song was with all original SuJu members still present, so it brings back the good old memories. I could keep this song on repeat.

7. MBLAQ – Cry

So, MBLAQ has a special place for me in that they are the only group whose album I actually physically have, which is their BLAQstyle album. Yes, I know I said Big Bang was my all time favorite, but my older sister had their albums so I never saw why I should have them too. And then I got into a phase where I was content enough with just having them on my iTunes.

8. 2NE1 – Scream

So, I tend to like the first version of a song better, and although the Korean version is awesome, it’s kind of hard to get past the fact that I already really love the Japanese version. However, when I heard the PV version, it wasn’t really clear (and I believe I was on the official YouTube channel for the song, so I don’t know why it wasn’t clear) so hearing a much more clear Korean version was nice.

9. MyNAME – Baby I’m Sorry

So, I loved the song, but I can’t say the same about the music video. It started out pretty good, but the ending was so… really??? Anyway, thanks to this song, I got back into MyNAME and went in search of their previous songs, and now I make sure to listen to their new stuff when I see updates about it.

10. BEAST – Shock

11. MBLAQ – 전쟁이야 (This is War)

MBLAQ is a little popular this week on Shuffle-It Sunday this week, I see. I know this song completely threw me off of expectations when it was released and hooked me on as an MBLAQ fan for sure.

12. Se7en – I’m Going Crazy

13. Gym Class Heroes ft Neon Hitch – Ass Back Home

So, umm… I’ve only listened to this song, but I hadn’t watched the music video until now. I love Neon Hitch’s voice though.

14. Park Jung Min – Not Alone

You already know my weaknesses for good instrumentals. And I just love the classical instruments, so the violins in this song was already a plus. SS501’s Park Jung Min? Another plus. A motivational/inspirational song? I’m done for.

15. M Street – For My Love

So this song I came across while looking for random songs on YouTube. Again, I’m not really a ballad person, but some songs just get to you. I may just have to see if M Street is still active and what they’ve released thus far.

Well, that’s the end of this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! I’m pretty sure most of these songs haven’t made the Shuffle-It Sunday lists before, so I hope there was something new for you guys!

Shuffle-It Sunday

We are finally getting around to a Shuffle-It Sunday! And to make up for missing two weeks, we’ll list 15 songs instead of just 10. Enjoy and find something new!

1. Eric Turner – Angels and Stars

2. G-Dragon ft Kim Yuna – Missing You

This one’s a repeat, but who doesn’t love listening to G-Dragon on repeat anyway?

3. BoA ft SuJu-M’s Henry and SHINee’s Key – One Dream

Coming from one of the most well known survival programs in South Korea, KPOP Star, this song is definitely very motivational sounding. I always look forward to a cover it from the contestants of each season. Even though BoA is no longer a judge, the show is still entertaining and fun to watch. I discovered new music every time I’ve watched it, and probably always will. So if you have time and are looking for something outside of dramas to watch, go and watch the KPOP Star series.

4. Electroboyz ft Baek Ji Young – Should I Laugh or Cry

5. Tsubokura Yuiko – Blue Requiem

I’m not a huge fan of anime, but I do watch them from time to time. I’m not sure if Demon Eyes Kyo followed the manga well, but I found it entertaining enough, and enjoyed the story line.

6. Infinite – 몰라 (I Don’t Know)

7. Lee Hong Ki ft Jung Yong Hwa- Promise

This song comes from one of the most loved Korean dramas of all time. Although I might not watch a second time at this age, I watched every single second of the drama. It introduced CN Blue to me, and made me love FT Island, especially Lee Hong Ki. Who wouldn’t come away from the drama without having fallen in love with Jeremy?

8. Epik High – Technology

I discovered this song after Tablo released his solo album. I’ve been a fan ever since their song Fan, but I kind of went off the map and didn’t realize how much Epik High went through until Tablo’s album. I kind of went into an Epik High overdose, and listened to a lot, if not all, of Epik High’s songs. So if you haven’t already, give Epik High’s previous work a listen to. Especially their song Fan. It’s a beautiful song. And this music video is to die for! I know it’s a parody, but I can’t pinpoint the movie. Whatever the case, I watched this at school (I tend to do that a lot) and nearly choked from having to hold in my laughter. It’s nice seeing a group’s mischievous and playful side, especially coming from a more serious hip-hop group.

9. Taylor Swift – You’re Not Sorry (CSI Remix)

I’m not really a Taylor Swift fan, but this song cannot be denied of how good it is! And it’s coming from one of the most loved American TV series, so… I do have to say this remix is what makes me love the song. The original is okay.

10. Kesha – Blow

I’m not sure what it is about this song, but, it explains itself pretty well and I was quite surprised that I liked it when it was released.

11. One Republic – All the Right Moves

I love this group so much! They came to perform in Minnesota (a rare occasion for celebrities, I know) summer of 2013, and tickets were only going for $50! It was a steal for such a talented group. My sisters and I purchased tickets, and One Republic was my first concert. If you want to try something a little different from KPOP, listen to One Republic, and go to their concerts! You will come away with no regrets! The live vocals are so beautiful! If I hadn’t already planned on KCON 2014, I would have definitely purchased tickets to their 2014 concert as well at the Target Center.

12. Brave Brothers ft Jay Park – 울고싶단 말야 (I Want to Cry)

13. T-Ara – Lovey Dovey

I love T-Ara’s extremely catchy songs, and the little mini dramas for their MVs. But because it was a bit long, I decided that I would just post the zombie version and that you all would be willing (or probably have already) to go check out the drama versions on your own time.

14. MyName – Message

I’ll be honest. This song was annoying at first, but I loved the chorus too much, so I bought the song on iTunes. Besides, what is the job of annoying songs anyway? To grow on you, right? It became one of the most listened to songs on my iTunes at the time.

15. Epik High – Be

I think it was this song that started my Epik High overdose. I came across it while listening to Tablo’s solo album, and just started clicking on a bunch of Epik High songs. They are a very talented trio.
