Shuffle-It Sunday

Well, it’s been a really long time since our last Shuffle-It Sunday, and I’m really glad to have found some time to do it this week, despite having a research report to write. This was always my favorite day of the week for our blog. No reviews though, just a list. Enjoy!

1. Kim Hyun Joong – Smile

2. Aaron Yan – 這不是我 (That’s Not Me)

3. Dalmatian – Lost in Love

4. C-Clown – 멀어질까봐 (Far Away… Young Love)

5. CN Blue – Cold Love

6. Jung Dong Ha – Mystery

7. Jun.K ft. J.Lim – Don’t Go

8. MyName – Baby, I’m Sorry

9. EXO – XOXO

10. TeenTop – 향수 뿌리지마 (Don’t Spray Perfume)

Shuffle-It Sunday

I managed to get up a Transformation Tuesday last week, but I didn’t get to the rest of what I was supposed to post up last week, and I apologize for anyone waiting for those. The semester is coming to an end for me, so hopefully I’ll have lots of free time opened up to catch up, as well as get through some reviews we’ve fallen extremely behind on. However, with the end of the semester comes lots of papers and studying, and so I, unfortunately, am looking at missing out on more posts this week. I’ll work hard to get them up, but there’s no guarantee. This also means that today’s Shuffle-It Sunday will be coming with no commentary as well. Enjoy the list and I hope you find something new to listen to!

1. Infinite – 몰라 (I Don’t Know)

2. Team B – 기다려 (Wait For Me)

3. Park Shin Hye – Lovely Day

4. EXO-M – Thunder

5. Kim Bo Kyung – Suddenly

6. Jeon Min Ju ft. Yuna Kim and Hankyu – 비별 (Goodbye Rain)

7. MBLAQ – Hello My Ex

8. Fahrenheit – 超喜歡你 (I Really Really Like You)

9. 2NE1 – Scream

10. BENI – One in a Million

And that’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed our list this week!

Shuffle-It Sunday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It felt so nice to have time for family, and although I probably shouldn’t have done so, it actually felt nice to not have to think about school… until now.

I realize I have let us fall behind schedule again, but as the semester comes to an end, I find myself swamped with papers and projects. I’ll try my best to catch up this week, as we are up to Throwback Thursday, but have yet to do a Transformation Tuesday and Watch-It Wednesday. Please be on the lookout for those, as well as any reviews we might have time for. Anyway, on to this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! Enjoy the list, and I hope you find something new to listen to! I have added quite a bit of songs to my iTunes since last week.

1. CL & Minzy – Please Don’t Go

I love this song! Oh my gosh! It’s been so long since I last listened to it! Why does YG give us so many sub-units, but never give them a comeback?! Darice and I are especially missing Minzy right now. She’s improved so much since her debut, and never ceases to amaze us. She can rap, sing, and dance! Give her a solo right now, YG!

2. T-Ara – Day by Day

This song will always get to me, no matter what. T-Ara has always given some of the most catchy songs, and even some I listen to still even now. This song had me hooked the moment I first heard it, and it still hits me right in my emotions.

3. Linkin Park – Iridescent

I love the Transformers series, although I was hoping former Super Junior member, Hangeng, got a more significant role in the movie, or at least even had a significant role. I couldn’t help but find the character he played ridiculous, not to say I didn’t enjoy seeing him. I also absolutely love Linkin Park, and I wish they would have been able to continue being the group to sing the songs for the Transformers series. I loved all three songs they had for the first three parts. I’m not doubting Imagine Dragons, as I love their song Demons, but I wasn’t as impressed with the song they had for the fourth part of the series. Until the next installation comes out, I guess.

4. EXO-K – 월광 (Moonlight)

This is such a beautiful song, and may actually be my favorite off the album! EXO definitely has some of the most powerful vocals in KPOP. With there being more emotional songs on this album than I remembered on any of EXO’s other albums, this album kind of felt like the good-bye it ended up being for Kris and Luhan. I absolutely enjoyed this album though, and particularly this song.

5. U-KISS – Forbidden Love

6. T-Ara – Sugar Free (Big Room Ver.)

Don’t forget to catch Bangtan Boys’ parody of this song!

7. MBLAQ – Oh Yeah!

I nearly cried when this song played, as MBLAQ talks about “the curtain closing” being an opportunity for them to grow and return to A+ as even better men. I have been hooked on MBLAQ ever since their debut, and they have truly worked hard to get to where they are now. I hope them all the best for their future, and we will always be supporting them, each member, regardless of if they return as five or not. Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah~ yeah~ yeah~!

8. Leona Lewis – My Hands

I absolutely love this song! I love Leona Lewis’ voice here. I haven’t really been into her new stuff though. But this! It’s a piece of artwork! I really like this song, and I could go on listening to it for a long, long time.

9. Outsider ft MC Sniper – Face Off

10. MBLAQ – Hello My Ex

A beautiful song to end our list this week! It’s a wonderful tune, and I love it. As I’ve always said, MBLAQ will always have a special place in my heart. They are, again, the only group who’ s album I physically own.

And we have reached the end of this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! I hope you enjoyed the list and found a new song to listen to!

– Zoey

Shuffle-It Sunday

I’m not missing it this week! Here’s our Shuffle-It Sunday for this week! Hope you enjoy the list and find something new to listen to.

1. EXO-M – Thunder

It feels so weird now, listening to EXO’s songs and hearing Kris’ voice in it still, especially from the “Overdose” album. But, everyone appreciates good music, and this song is most definitely a good song, if not more. Here’s to hoping that SM will give EXO the break they need, and the time it takes to move on and get a fresh, new feel when they have another comeback.

2. CN Blue – 나 그대보다 (Myself More Than You)

I am so excited to see this group at KCON this year! We got to see them at the KBS LA Korea Festival back in April, and their fan service made me love them more. And, in my opinion, they were, hands down, the best performance that night. Yonghwa knows how to get his crowd going! CN Blue definitely shocked more than expected.

3. FT Island – 너의 말 (Your Words)

4. Seung Ri – White Love

5. J.Min – 일어나 (Stand Up)

So, I feel like she’s an underdog of SM Entertainment. Of course, I watched the drama, and this song completely caught my attention when I first heard it. Can you imagine my shock when I found out she was under SM Entertainment? I mean, when did SM Entertainment start recruiting someone like J.Min? I hope they give her more attention and promote her a whole lot more than it seems like they’re doing now.

6. FT Island – You’ll Be In My Heart

Okay, FT Island seriously needs more attention. This song is just beautiful!

7. DBSK – Lovin’ You

My iTunes sure is being cruel. How does it shuffle to DB5K songs twice in a week for Shuffle It Sunday? Man, do I miss them as a whole.

8. Dalmatian – Lost In Love

So, like, umm… what happened to this group? I hate it when KPOP groups are put out there, and taken down so quickly. I know there was a scandal with one of the members, but what happened to them before that? There have only been two albums that I’m aware of from them. And I feel like they were in the industry for at least 3-4 years.

9. Son Dam Bi – Can’t U See

So, where is the music video for this song? There are teasers all over YouTube, but I can’t find the music video anywhere! Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough. If anyone knows, please let us know.

10. BEAST – Shock

I’ve seen their music video for “Good Luck”; just have to review it. But I happen to come across BEAST when I was still very into buying DVDs from the local market of KPOP music video compilations, and they were on one. It was “Say No” that I saw, but they caught my attention, and I’ve listened to nearly all their songs to date. And is their new album not yet available on iTunes?

And our Shuffle-It Sunday ends here!

Shuffle-It Sunday

As promised, 15 songs for this week’s Shuffle-It Sunday! Hope you find something new to listen to!

1. Boyfriend – 좀좀좀 (Little by Little)

2. Infinite – Paradise

3. Wang Lee Hom – 你不知道的事 (All the Things You Never Knew)

This is only a snippet in which the song was used in Wang Lee Hom’s movie, Love in Disguise. The movie is definitely worth watching, and the album that most of the songs come from is definitely worth the buy. I even shared the movie during a movie night for one of my high school clubs. It’s a beautiful song overall, and I still listen to it every now and then.

4. 2NE1 – 너 아님 안돼 (Gotta Be You)

I’m sure a lot of fans will agree that this music video was a disappointment for how beautiful the song was.

5. Jay Chou – 四面楚歌 (Surrounded)

So, I did not know that the person rapping in Korean towards the end was actually Jay Chou himself. I was so shocked. And I did not know what the song was about, although I did get the gist from the music video. The things I am forced (and appreciate very much) to learn with this blog. This song can get very addicting.

6. Shinhwa – This Love

One of the oldest KPOP groups to date. The dance may have been a bit awkward, in my opinion, but I loved the song.

7. Fahrenheit – 心疼你的心疼 (Cherish Your Heartache)

The only boy group from the Mandopop genre that I keep a look out for. Anyone watching Aaron Yan’s Fall in Love With Me? Not a fan of the story line, but I can’t help myself from not watching Aaron.

8. 45rpm ft Gummy – Past Luv

First of all, if you haven’t yet watched My Mighty Princess, then you are missing out! That is one of the best Korean movies ever! And the OSTs are amazing! Discovered quite the amount of artists that I would have never known about, such as this one.

9. Ze:A – 하루종일 (All Day)

10. SNSD – Echo

11. Park Bom – Don’t Cry

12. Seven – I’m Going Crazy

I love that Seven featured his girlfriend in this music video, and I don’t even know why. Maybe it’s because they’ve been together for so long. But I fangirled pretty hard when Se7en made his domestic comeback.

13. K.Will ft MC Mong – Love 119

14. DBSK – Why Did I Fall in Love With You

These songs always hit home with me. I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say I will always prefer the original DBSK, although I am in full support of the current DBSK and JYJ. This song is definitely a favorite of mine. It’s just so beautiful!

15. Mystic White – Mermaid Princess

Out of the four special collaborations prepared for this SBS Gayo Daejun, Mystic White’s was my favorite, along with Dynamic Black’s.

Shuffle-It Sunday

We are finally getting around to a Shuffle-It Sunday! And to make up for missing two weeks, we’ll list 15 songs instead of just 10. Enjoy and find something new!

1. Eric Turner – Angels and Stars

2. G-Dragon ft Kim Yuna – Missing You

This one’s a repeat, but who doesn’t love listening to G-Dragon on repeat anyway?

3. BoA ft SuJu-M’s Henry and SHINee’s Key – One Dream

Coming from one of the most well known survival programs in South Korea, KPOP Star, this song is definitely very motivational sounding. I always look forward to a cover it from the contestants of each season. Even though BoA is no longer a judge, the show is still entertaining and fun to watch. I discovered new music every time I’ve watched it, and probably always will. So if you have time and are looking for something outside of dramas to watch, go and watch the KPOP Star series.

4. Electroboyz ft Baek Ji Young – Should I Laugh or Cry

5. Tsubokura Yuiko – Blue Requiem

I’m not a huge fan of anime, but I do watch them from time to time. I’m not sure if Demon Eyes Kyo followed the manga well, but I found it entertaining enough, and enjoyed the story line.

6. Infinite – 몰라 (I Don’t Know)

7. Lee Hong Ki ft Jung Yong Hwa- Promise

This song comes from one of the most loved Korean dramas of all time. Although I might not watch a second time at this age, I watched every single second of the drama. It introduced CN Blue to me, and made me love FT Island, especially Lee Hong Ki. Who wouldn’t come away from the drama without having fallen in love with Jeremy?

8. Epik High – Technology

I discovered this song after Tablo released his solo album. I’ve been a fan ever since their song Fan, but I kind of went off the map and didn’t realize how much Epik High went through until Tablo’s album. I kind of went into an Epik High overdose, and listened to a lot, if not all, of Epik High’s songs. So if you haven’t already, give Epik High’s previous work a listen to. Especially their song Fan. It’s a beautiful song. And this music video is to die for! I know it’s a parody, but I can’t pinpoint the movie. Whatever the case, I watched this at school (I tend to do that a lot) and nearly choked from having to hold in my laughter. It’s nice seeing a group’s mischievous and playful side, especially coming from a more serious hip-hop group.

9. Taylor Swift – You’re Not Sorry (CSI Remix)

I’m not really a Taylor Swift fan, but this song cannot be denied of how good it is! And it’s coming from one of the most loved American TV series, so… I do have to say this remix is what makes me love the song. The original is okay.

10. Kesha – Blow

I’m not sure what it is about this song, but, it explains itself pretty well and I was quite surprised that I liked it when it was released.

11. One Republic – All the Right Moves

I love this group so much! They came to perform in Minnesota (a rare occasion for celebrities, I know) summer of 2013, and tickets were only going for $50! It was a steal for such a talented group. My sisters and I purchased tickets, and One Republic was my first concert. If you want to try something a little different from KPOP, listen to One Republic, and go to their concerts! You will come away with no regrets! The live vocals are so beautiful! If I hadn’t already planned on KCON 2014, I would have definitely purchased tickets to their 2014 concert as well at the Target Center.

12. Brave Brothers ft Jay Park – 울고싶단 말야 (I Want to Cry)

13. T-Ara – Lovey Dovey

I love T-Ara’s extremely catchy songs, and the little mini dramas for their MVs. But because it was a bit long, I decided that I would just post the zombie version and that you all would be willing (or probably have already) to go check out the drama versions on your own time.

14. MyName – Message

I’ll be honest. This song was annoying at first, but I loved the chorus too much, so I bought the song on iTunes. Besides, what is the job of annoying songs anyway? To grow on you, right? It became one of the most listened to songs on my iTunes at the time.

15. Epik High – Be

I think it was this song that started my Epik High overdose. I came across it while listening to Tablo’s solo album, and just started clicking on a bunch of Epik High songs. They are a very talented trio.

Shuffle It Sunday

Here is this week’s Shuffle It Sunday! Hope you all find something new to listen to, and enjoy the repeats if there are any!

1. Brian Joo ft Valerie – Don’t Tell Me I’m Wrong

2. B.A.P – Stop It

This cute image of theirs was such a breath of fresh air and was what really hooked me into becoming a fan of B.A.P.

3. Katy Perry – Wide Awake

4. Big Bang – Love Song

It seems like a YG song is a must on all the Shuffle It Sundays.

5. Big Bang – Tell Me Goodbye

Wow, two Big Bang songs in a row! Actually, it happens all the time; if it’s not Big Bang, it’s 2NE1. Speaking of Big Bang, who else is excited for Taeyang’s album (FINALLY!)?

6. EXO – Baby

Hearing Kris’ voice… I’m going to miss the original EXO so much.

7. f(x) – Electric Shock

8. Ayumi Hamasaki – Rainy Day

Sorry! I had a hard time finding a full music video, so here’s a snippet.

9. Big Bang – Emotion

Well, this makes three of Big Bang’s songs now. I wonder how many I have in my iTunes?

10. Nelly – Just a Dream

This song! I love it!

Shuffle It Sunday

Time for another Shuffle It Sunday! Hope you all enjoy the songs and find something new to listen to!

– Zoey

1. CN Blue – Love Girl

2. T-Ara – 사랑놀이 (Keep Out)

3. Dynamic Duo – Friday Night

4. U-Kiss – Every Day

5. 2NE1 – 살아 봤으면 해 (If I Were You)

6. Yuna Ito ft Spontania – 今でも 会いたいよ

7. Big Bang – Heaven

* The Korean version is the one that played, but I had to have the beautiful mv up, so here’s the Japanese version of the song instead.

8. Son Dam Bi – Can’t U See

* There is an mv for this song, but I can’t find it.

9. DBSK – Lovin’ You

10. Super Junior – Superman

Shimizu Shota – Dream

It’s been quite a while since a weekly song review, so here I am with a song that many people probably don’t know. I think this will be the first JPOP review for our blog; Shimizu Shota – Dream (ゆめ).

I know there are a lot of KPOP songs that just came out, such as JJCC, Lee Michelle, Orange Caramel and 4Minute but I have a pending list that I think I should work out first. Eventually though, I think I’ll be able to get to these listed artists now that my midterms are over.

Alright, time to review ゆめ. Although I am currently a second year Japanese student, I can’t exactly grasp everything Shota is singing about. If I were to do so, I think it’d take me a couple hours to translate everything through. All I know is that the song has to most definitely be some sort of motivational song, just based off of the tune and title of the song. I hear a lot of ありがとう (thank you) as well, so… yeah.

Anyway, I like the song a lot. It’s easy on the ears and has a nice flow. Shota’s voice is also very unique. It’s clear and strong, and I think it’s very soothing. It definitely stirs a strong feeling in me, and it makes me want to continue dreaming big. I hear a lot of instruments being used in this song as well, but they all blend so well together that I’d have to listen to the song multiple times to pin them down.

As for the music video, it was simple. I think it followed the story of three couples. So, to further add on for translation, these couples must be thankful to each other for supporting them in their dreams. One is a couple who dances, another is a couple who work together as photographer and stylist, and the final couple seems to be high school students. If I reviewed music videos, I think I could get a good chapter’s length of interpretation done for this music video.

Overall score; 8. I wasn’t completely like “WOW”, but I still liked it a lot. It’s a soothing tune and has a good beat, and I think Shota has a beautiful voice. I don’t know much about him, but I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for his songs now.

I couldn’t find the music video on YouTube, however I did find it on the Japanese version of YouTube (or at least that’s what it looks like to me). So check it out at http://goo.gl/nbq712 and share your thoughts below!
